Roshni Mooneeram

I am a strategy consultant, inclusion architect, leadership coach, international keynote speaker, writer.

Inclusion architecture refers to the systematic design of organisational cultures, leadership, workforces processes, environments.

I have over two decades of professional experience with organisations across Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, USA, specialising in organisational transformation, inclusive leadership, and institutional innovation. My work consists in transforming the diversity that makes us human into economic and social capital for organisations, regions and countries.

My expertise spans flagship science research institutes, intergovernmental organisations, and the private sector. My work is evidence based and supported by my academic background and networks. I sit on institutional advisory boards globally. I am Visiting Expert at the Sino-European Key Lab in China and a founding member of Empressa AI.

My bio

I was born in Mauritius and have since lived and worked across Africa, Asia, Europe and the UK. Through my lived and professional experience across continents, I have gathered a wealth of human and organisational insights into both the pain points that organisations experience in their transformation journeys, and the opportunities that inclusion represents in driving organisations’ missions.

The first 10 years of my career were in academia in the UK and China. I thrive in pioneering work and played a leadership role in setting up the first foreign university in China, the University of Nottingham where I co-founded and directed an academic department and a regional research centre. I then transformed my research interests and analytical skills into consultancy work in inclusion and transformation while continuing to draw from my academic networks. I have held two in house leadership roles: as Head of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion at the European Molecular Biology Lab and as Director of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. My inhouse leadership experiences, which provide me with the vantage point of insights into the realities of organisational development, are an important asset to my consultancy work.

In terms of professional accreditation, I completed an Executive Programme in Organisation Leadership and Innovation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (2023); an Executive Programme in Inclusive Leadership at the London School of Economics and Political Science Executive programme (2022). I also hold a CIPD Level 7 Award in Learning Design, Delivery and Evaluation (2019). I have a PhD in the Social Sciences, MA in Postcolonial Literature (Distinction) and BA in English Language and Literature (Class I) from the University of Leeds, UK.
